A group of students who attend the Utah high school where the original High School Musical movies were filmed prepare for their fall production of High School Musical.

Ricky and Nini, who play Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, share chemistry on and off the stage, but with their understudies E.J. and Gina plotting to take over their roles, will these talented performers make it to opening night?
