Peterson First Guide To Mammals Of North America (Paperback)
Peterson First Guides are the first books the beginning naturalist needs. Condensed versions of the famous Peterson Field Guides, the First Guides focus on the animals, plants, and other natural things you are most likely to see. They make it fun to get into the field and easy to progress to the full-fledged Peterson Guides.
Richard Philip Grossenheider (1909-1975) illustrated A Field Guide to Mammals by William Henry Burt, a revised edition of which was published in 1964 in the Peterson Field Guide series. Grossenheider's water-colors of birds and mammals of the Southwest Pacific were featured in a 1946 exhibition at the National Audobon Society in New York.
